Inspired By A Custard Cup And Saucer Depicting The Hanoverian Coat Of Arms From The Collection Of Adolphus, Duke Of Cambridge (The Seventh Son Of George Iii), This Lustre Set Consists Of Magnificent Six Coffee Cups And Saucers. Dating From C1796-1801, The Inspirational Piece Was Made By The Russian Petersburg Porcelain Factory. The ‘Mother Of Pearl’ Or ‘Lustre’ Effect First Became Popular In The Early 19Th Century And It Is On This Provenance That Our Lustre Coffee Cups & Saucers Are Based. The Application Of Lustre, Creates A Controlled Variety Of Tones And Effects On The Products To Which It Is Applied And Therefore Each Product Is Regarded As Being Unique And May Differ Slightly In Colour. The Hanoverian Coat Of Arms, Ornate Decoration And The Handles Of Each Coffee Cup Are All Beautifully Finished With 22 Carat Gold.
